Job Summary
As a Hardware Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for all phases of product development including product definition and delivery. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Technical projects Hardware Engineers participate in include: exploration of products and/or process problems, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, origination or modification of material, component and process specifications and requirements.
Essential Functions:
- A major part of your responsibility will be to participate in any and/or all phases
of the product development cycle from architecture through implementation,
documentation, prototyping, validation and support including:
- Evaluating materials, properties and techniques used in production of small systems
- Evaluation and executing design and development plans for products
- Architecture, documentation, prototyping, validation and support
- Complete subsystem project planning and executing
- Testing
- Writing test cases
- Working on the specification, development, validation, and support for products
through the product life
- As part of a team, you will lead and participate in technical discussions within
the immediate group and across functions, where evaluating and executing design and
development plans for products are reviewed.
- This individual will be responsible for evaluating, defining and prioritizing
projects.
- A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively
contribute toward team, department, and company goals.
Job Requirements
- FPGA design experience is a must.
- Solid knowledge of Verilog module design, C based PLI testing and preferably System
verilog experience.
- Previous experience with algorithm based module: DMA, Security, Compression and
other are highly desirable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- A strong understanding of verification concepts.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet
aggressive goals and high quality standards.
- Ability to develop longer-range project plans and schedules for individual or work
for a small team.
Education and Experience
Minimum of BS EE or equivalent and 5 years of experience in multiple disk enclosure design, server design or embedded system design. Demonstrated record of taking designs from concept through successully shipping product.Ideal candidate would have MS EE & 7 years experience in multiple disk enclosure design, server or embedded system design, SAS and SATA adapter, enclosure, or switch design experience, SCSI and/or FibreChannel experience, and substantial experience working with external design level partners/vendors (not just component vendors).
Responsibility:
- This individual contributer will take a leading position in a FPGA design team collaborating with the rest of the team members on designing high end acceleration cards that are FPGA based.
Work is from concept through micro architecture design and verification using direct and indirect testing, Coverage analysis and support for firmware development.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years experience is required, 8 to 10 years of experience is
preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a
Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
