Job Summary:
Software Engineer in the High Availability Infrastructure group. Design of innovative new features for Netapp’s High Availability solutions.
As a Sr. Software Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for actively participating in driving product development and strategy. In addition, you will participate in activities that include testing and debugging of operating systems that run NetApp storage applications. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development.
Essential Functions:
Strong customer focus. Document, design, code and test Software. Work with Development and QA Engineering teams from project inception through delivery. Remain hands on throughout.
Requirements:
Experience in system software development (min 10 years). Strong background in multi-threaded design and development. Experience with clustering, distributed systems and multi-processing architectures. Experience with NAS/SAN product development very desirable. Knowledge of networking protocols, network file-systems (NFS, CIFS, etc.)
Strong C programming skills. Good verbal and writing skills.
Education and Experience Bachelors, prefer Masters in Computer or Electronic Engineering
