Storage Sustaining Manager

Job Summary:
This individual will manage a team of engineers to support the shelf firmware and system features for storage shelves. The Storage Systems Support Manager will lead a team of development, tools, and escalation engineers and work with NetApp's Global Support Team to resolve field issues and develop tools and firmware releases to improve reliability, availability and supportability with existing and next generation storage shelf products. . A qualified candidate will possess the skills to manage multiple programs, be hands-on with the technology, as well as interact with external vendors and partners to get needed support and/or provide requirements and specifications.


Job Requirements Qualifications:
o Embedded Systems and OS development.
o Experience managing engineering development teams.
o Excellent organizational and communication skills.
o Good understanding of software development and releases processes.
o Technical vision and leadership.


Highly Desirable:
o 1-3 years of engineering management experience.
o Familiarity with storage products and protocols (SCSI/SAS, PATA/SATA, FC, etc.)
o Experience working on High Availability products for the enterprise space.
o Experience with architecture and design of RAS (reliability, availability, serviceability) product features.
o Good understanding of hardware and developing low-level software (OS, kernel, I/O drivers, etc).

Education and Experience :
o BS/MS in CS/EE or other technical degree.
o 8-10 years of engineering development experience inlcuding 1-3 years of direct management experie
